Two beautiful finds and other extraordinary things

I found this beauty at an antique store a few miles away from my home.
Thanks to my little sister Emma for taking this picture=]
It was eight dollars.  Which for me is a little pricey, but who could resist!  The lady that owned the antique store said she bought it at an estate sale.....she thinks that it is a memento from Paris.  How lucky for me to get it!
Another beauty that I recently came upon, is this:
Well, actually my grandma found it by her house and gave it to me.  It is such a pretty nest.  I love the eggs inside and the moss strewn throughout the nest that is carefully knit together.  The way birds make nests is a simply stunning creation of God's!  Another lucky find for me!
Here are some other extraordinary and summery things.
I love Queen Anne's lace.  It is one of those things that I always look forward to during summer.
I found this butterfly the other day.  It was so kind to let me take a couple of pictures of it before it flew away.
I took some photos in the cornfield today.  It was such a gorgeous day out!! The sun was so bright and there was a beautiful breeze.
I love these summer shirts!  You can find them here at this beautiful etsy shop.  Although they are expensive, so me having a low salary (none at all=]) I think I shall try and make some.  We will see how that works out....
Now for the grand finale!!!  Me and Rachel LOVE Harry Potter and some of you may know that the 7th Harry Potter movie part 1 is coming out in November!  Well mugglenet has just released a trailer for both part 1 and part 2.  If you LOVE Harry Potter like us please go check it out here and if you are not a Haryy Potter fan go check it out anyway because it is amazing.  All I can say about that is epic....it is just epic!  I can't wait.
Have a wonderful Day!!!

The Magical Circus of Pierre and Luigi

Pierre and Luigi are two young girls. Their names are not really Pierre and Luigi but it gives their circus act title a bit more flair. They travel the world together. To name a few: Tokyo, San Francisco, all sorts of towns and cities in Maine where they've done some sailing, London, Paris, Greece, Rome, cities in the Mediterranean, and many other places too numerous to count! Their act consists of many mysterious things, the only people who know what happens are those lucky enough to be selected to view the act. You are sworn to secrecy before viewing The Magical Circus...only a few have let slip that they actually got to see a fairy and pixie dust and some say they got to fly among the stars. Most people think them crazy but others believe them, the others who have been lucky enough to see The Magical Circus of Pierre and Luigi themselves. Maybe someday you will be lucky enough to view The Magical Circus...if you have the imagination to do so.

"Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!"

A girl in a blue frock clueless to life beyond what she has.  She starts to wonder and begins to get curious, but hasn’t her mother told her that curiosity killed the cat.  She wishes for another world where everything is topsy-turvy, a place where down is up and up is down, a place where things are not as they seem.  A place, a place, a wonderland perhaps.  Yes! A wonderland, a place of wonder, but where to find this whimsical land she questioned.  We will not tell her where to find it, oh no we will not for we know of the wonderland, we know of the secrets hidden within, we know.  If only behind-schedule-rabbits would not ruin this secret, if only the respectable rabbit passing through the garden right now would have paid more mind to being sneaky, but alas, he did not, and so the adventure begins!  Alice, unbeknownst to her is not in a place of enjoyment, but a place of befuddlement and confusion and madness.  She meets a cat, a quite mad cat.  This Cheshire cat helped her as much as it could, but of course, it was mad, so therefore it did not help very much. The cat lead Alice to a tea party, but something is not quite right.  Why is it they never drink the tea, and why is it they keep asking that infuriating question “Why is a raven like a writing desk?”  Soon she learns of the madness about, of the queen of hearts and the knave too.  She then learns of the trouble ahead and she realizes the trouble that has already begun.  She wants to go home, she wants to get out, but how does she do that there is no door around here.  She meets a few more people that she does not agree with.  Some funny twins, a caterpillar, and some talking flowers just to name a few.  There are no friends to her here.  Oh!  What should she do?   Before she knew it, she was playing croquet and all of a sudden, her life was at stake.  “Off with your head!” was all she could hear as she ran as fast as her feet would take her.  Then the sound changed and she heard birds tweeting, wind rustling, and normal sorts like that.  She opened her eyes and to her surprise, she was back!  She was safe and sane....or so she thought.  Little does Alice know, although she will soon find out in her other wonderland adventures, all people are mad.  Because of course mad people are the best.

pure magic

Well hello lovely! So, yesterday the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened up. Ah, how Erika and I wish we could have been there! But, I found this precious picture of Daniel Radcliffe (who plays Harry Potter) leading some adorable first graders into the theme park and I had to share it with you all. :)
And I also found this adorable one of Michael Gambon (who plays Dumbledore) and Daniel Radcliffe leading these cutie first graders with precious glowing faces!
So, I know this is an animated shot of Hogsmeade but I know for a fact that this is what the theme park looks like...and...is it not amazing? Erika and I ARE getting there someday, we're saving our pennies. :)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend. Pictures from photo shoot last week coming soon!

Enjoy the day!

memorial day adventures!

So, as all of you know, I love Emma Watson! She's just so classy and adorable. The only thing she's been in besides Harry Potter is a voice in Tale of Despereaux and, Ballet Shoes. Well, I love her in the Potter films (they're my favourite) and decided to check out Ballet Shoes. So I put it on our Netfilix queue (Netflix is my favourite ever!) and this past Saturday night my sister Hannah and I were home alone with nothing to do, and what do we get in the mail? Ballet Shoes from Netflix! I was so excited and couldn't wait to watch it later that night. I absolutely loved it...it was so adorable and just brilliant. I would highly recommend it. So yes, I was not disappointed in Emma Watson's other film. :)

Anyways, sorry in our lack of posting lately but I was behind in putting pictures on the computer. But, over Memorial Day weekend Erika and I had a brilliant time together! On the Friday before Memorial Day it was Erika's last day of school so I went to her house and we painted that landscape we told you about a couple posts ago.
With canvas, paint, and easel in tow we went out to the huge beautiful field behind Erika's house. Emma (far right) came along and sketched.
Isn't it a beautiful field?
We decided that we would watch the sunrise in the morning, this was the night before but Erika wore yellow pajamas and I wore blue...we said we were a banana and a blueberry!
We woke up at 6AM, with only four hours of sleep on us but we grabbed some blankets and headed out to the field. It was so calm and still, and there was a beautiful fog overlaying everything.
I love the effect the sunlight had on my camera lens, it looked so warm and glowing.
Later that afternoon Erika and I finished our painting in her yard. It was so much fun! We do love to paint. :)
OK, so for some reason Blogpsot is being lame and when I added the picture on here it was rotated wrong, but if you tilt your head you'll see the finish product! :) What do you think? Also, I (Rachel) did one side and Erika did the other...which side do you think each of us did?
Later in the afternoon Hannah came to pick me up, and since my brother's band had a show later that night that Erika was going to come to anyway she just came home with us and it was her first time ever to drive with Hannah!
Then Sunday came around and all of the family and cousins and aunts and uncles went to my grandma's house on the lake for the annual Memorial Day get-together. My family got there Sunday night and the sunset was fabulous PLUS the neighbour's had their sailboat parked on my grandma's shore so it made for great picture taking with Erika, Emma, and our other cousin, Emily. :)

Emily and I with the wonderful sailboat! It felt so good to be at grandma's lake for the first time this Summer.
Cute cousin Zeke, Erika's little brother, oblivious to my taking his picture, which is always the best with little kids because then they look their natural cute selves.
Photo credit goes to Emily for this one!
We all wanted to keep the sailboat for our very own, but sadly it belonged to the neighbour.
And Emily was a fabulous cousin and got in the water to take this super cool photo!
The neighbour's set off some brilliant fireworks later in the evening. Oh how I love wonderful Summer at my grandma's lake. Later that night we had a campfire and had s'mores...it was excellent to be back in the swing of lake adventures!

Hope you all are doing swell and that you had a great weekend! Also, we've been doing some redesigning on our blog and got a new background, do you all like it?

Enjoy this warm Summer weather! I'm off to my grandma's lake tomorrow to kick off the first tubing and swimming of the season.

With love,
Rachel <3
